Mette – Nordic Mid-Century Opal Glass Pendant
Mette – Nordic Mid-Century Opal Glass Pendant
Description
A small piece of mid-century Denmark, made to sit above a table. Mette is a Nordic opal glass pendant light (opal glass is often called milk glass): a warm-glowing white glass shade on a slim brass neck, in three vintage silhouettes so you can match the shape to the room.
Unlit, the shade reads as a pearl-white shape against the ceiling. Lit, it gives a soft, warm 3000K pool of light with no glare.
Which Mette silhouette should I pick?
- Disc, 30 cm (about 11.8"): a wide, flat stacked-disc shape. The lowest profile, best over a countertop.
- Dome, 28 cm (about 11"): a rounded dome, the tallest of the three at 19 cm. Best where the pendant is the centerpiece.
- Disc, 32 cm (about 12.6"): the same stacked disc, one size larger. Best over a bigger dining table or a kitchen island.
How high should it hang?
Over a dining table, hang it so the bottom of the shade sits about 30 to 36 inches above the tabletop. Over a kitchen island, a little higher. The cord adjusts at the canopy, so you can shorten it at install without cutting.
What bulb does it take?
Mette takes a standard E26 bulb, and a warm-white LED bulb is included. Any E26 LED will fit if you want a smart bulb or a different color temperature later.
